What is CrowdSwell?

An entire album for free?! What's the catch?

In order to get the album for free, you need to email four of your friends and tell them about Dublin. When you email four of your friends you are also opting in to receive emails from Dublin (about once a month.) You can unsubscribe from Dublin's email list at any time.

Of course, if you don't want to tell four of your friends about Dublin and get the album for free, you can always buy the album for $9.99 here.

Are my friends going to get spammed?

The only person contacting your friends is you. Dublin never receives the emails of the people you contact. They will never be spammed (unless your friends consider email from you spam.)

Can I just open up my email program and email four friends?

In order to determine whether you emailed four friends, an email address needs to be included in the "cc:" field of your emails. You can copy dublin-do-not-remove@crowdswell.org and paste it into the "cc:" field of any email you send.

You should also include the link http://dublin.crowdswell.org in the body of your email so your friends can listen to the music and participate as well.

My favorite email program isn't in your list. Can I still participate?

If you use a webmail program like Apple's Mobile Me or any other email client not on our list, you can still get Dublin's album for free by emailing four friends. Open up your favorite email program, start a new email, then do the following:

1. Copy dublin-do-not-remove@crowdswell.org and paste it into the CC: field of your email.
2. Copy the link http://dublin.crowdswell.org and paste it into the body of your message
3. Send the email to your friends. You can either send one email to each friend or send one email to all four friends at once.

Okay, I emailed four friends, now what?

Check the inbox of the email address you used when you wrote your friends. You should get an email from crowdswell@gmail.com. That email will have a unique link that you can use to download the album. The link will only work once.

If you don't see a reward email, search your spam folder for an email from crowdswell@gmail.com. You can also add crowdswell@gmail.comto your address book so emails don't go to your spam folder.

I emailed four friends and checked my inbox, but I haven't recieved a download code. Are you tying to con me?

Try the steps in the instruction above. Double check that the email(s) you sent to your friends had the email address
dublin-do-not-remove@crowdswell.org in the CC: field of your emails.

If you did everything right but still didn't get a code, send an email to help@crowdswell.org using the address you used when you emailed your friends. We will check out your issue and send you a download code.

If my friends tell four of their friends, do they get a download too?

Yes, that's the idea. Let your friends know they can download the album too when they tell four of their friends.

Does it count if I tell a Facebook or Twitter friend?

Not currently. Right now you can only email friends. In the future you will be able to tweet and tell facebook friends and receive rewards.

I don't want to email any friends. Can I just buy the album?

Yes. Dublin's Ease the Pain is currently available for $9.99 here.

What is CrowdSwell?

CrowdSwell is a tool that allows musicians to create word-of-mouth promotions in exchange for music. Dublin is using CrowdSwell to run his promotion.

The only time you will be emailed by Crowdswell is when you email four friends. You will then receive an email from crowdswell@gmail.com. CrowdSwell will never contact you without your permission or sell any of the email addresses it servers receive.
